Maryland man with dementia missing since Monday found dead

GAITHERSBURG, Md. (AP) -- A Gaithersburg man with dementia who had been missing since Monday has been found dead less than a mile from home.

The Montgomery County Police Department says someone found the body of 67-year-old Harmohinder Bakshi behind a Dunkin Donuts in Gaithersburg on Wednesday morning. Bakshi was on the ground against a privacy fence along the property line and partially obscured by a snow bank.

The discovery came hours before Bakshi's family planned to speak at a news conference asking for the public's help to find their loved one.

Police say foul play is not suspected and that the elements may have played a factor in Bakshi's death. An autopsy will determine exactly how Bakshi died.

Police Capt. Paul Starks says Bakshi lived with family and was reported missing Monday night.
