Maryland gymnastics coach facing child pornography charges

A gymnastics instructor from Columbia is being charged in connection with possession and distribution of child pornography, according to Baltimore County police.

Paul Daniel Bollinger, 56, of the 7600 block of Gladstone Road, has been charged with possession and distribution of child pornography. He is being held on a $2.5 million bail.

Officials say the investigation started in May when a detective learned about possible distribution of child porn online. Further investigation led detectives to Bollinger's home in Windsor Mill, according to officials.

On May 25 police found a computer and several digital media storage devices during a search and seizure warrant at his home.

30,000 images and videos of child pornography were found on the computer. According to authorities Bollinger had been a gymnastics coach at the Top Flight Gymnastics in Columbia for 25 years. Further investigation has indicated that he is sexually attracted to children and writes stories about having sex with children, according to officials.
