A Marine is in custody after he allegedly murdered his wife - who is also a Marine - in a Crystal City hotel after the Quantico Base Birthday Ball.

Arlington County police charged 24-year-old Rodolfo Rivera-Valencia with murder in the death of 20-year-old Lance Cpl. Natasha Rivera of Stafford, Virginia.

Police said they responded to the hotel in the 1700 block of Jefferson Davis Highway around 9:40 a.m. on Saturday.

When officers arrived, they found Natasha Rivera dead inside the room.

The Arlington Police Department and Naval Criminal Investigative Service were investigating the alleged murder and Quantico said it was cooperating fully with the investigation.

According to Quantico staff, Natasha Rivera was from Brooklyn, and Rodolfo Rivera is from the Chicago area.

The couple had a 1-month-old child together.
