Man suspected of taking 'upskirt' photos of women at DC Metro station arrested

Police arrested a 19-year-old man they say was responsible for taking 'upskirt' pictures of a woman at a D.C. Metrorail station.

The incident allegedly happened last Thursday night as a woman was exciting the Columbia Heights station on an escalator.

The woman told police she felt a hand up her skirt before seeing a man flee the area and go back into the station. After police reviewed surveillance video, they found images they say showed the man placing a cell phone up the woman's skirt.

Authorities say an anonymous tip identified the man as Brandon Lynn Williams of Forestville, Maryland. He was arrested Tuesday morning and faces a misdemeanor sexual abuse charge. Detectives say they seized electronic devices, cell phones, computers, and hard drives from the house Williams was found in.

Officers say multiple other victims have been identified and contacted by Metro Transit Police investigators. They also say there are potentially dozens of female victims who are unaware that Williams allegedly took "upskirt" photos of them while on an escalator. The incidents police are investigating allegedly happened on August 2 and August 3.
