Man struck, killed by MARC train was suspect in Jessup double shooting

The man who opened fire killing one person and injuring another in Jessup, Maryland was struck and killed by a train in an apparent suicide.

Police say Jacinto Del Prado, 52, of Greenbelt was identified as the suspect who shot two men on Assateague Drive Sunday, killing one and leaving the other in critical condition.

Del Prado took his own life around 7:00 a.m. Monday when he jumped in front of a train in Lanham which caused a halt to MARC's Penn Line.

The deceased has been identified as Chad Dewayne Daniel, 44, of Wesley Chapel, Fla.
The injured victim, Warren Anthony Weeden, 57, of Baltimore, was transported to Shock Trauma, where he is currently in stable condition.

Investigators believe Del Prado went to the truck stop on Sunday to confront a man about a domestic matter. Authorities think that Daniel and Weeden may have been shot in a case of mistaken identity.

The investigation is ongoing.
