Man killed in Reston apartment shooting; 2 charged

A robbery attempt led to a deadly shooting at an apartment complex in Fairfax County, authorities said.

Police identified the man who died as Rashad Daye, 24, of Herndon. He was one of several people visiting the Stoneview Square apartment on Sunday afternoon when shots were fired in what police called a targeted crime.

Eddie Rodriguez, 22, and Dominique May, 18, are charged with attempted robbery and use of a firearm in commission of a felony. Police say additional charges may be placed.

The incident was not a home invasion as police first reported.
