Man charged with setting fire in Chantilly Wal-Mart store

CHANTILLY, Va. (AP) — Fairfax County fire investigators have charged a man with setting a fire at a Wal-Mart store in Chantilly.

Fire officials say 22-year-old Brenton Carter is charged with setting a fire Feb. 4 at the store. He is also charged with disorderly conduct and possessing illegal fireworks. Officials say Carter has no fixed address.

During the incident, firefighters found smoke and a small fire near a clothes rack. An employee had quickly extinguished the flames, and the store was evacuated. No one was injured.

Carter is being held at the Fairfax County Detention Center. A defense attorney for Carter could be identified to comment on the charges.
