Man accused of robbing 'Pokemon Go' players on University of Maryland's College Park campus arrested

(AP) -- A man accused of robbing three "Pokemon Go" players on the University of Maryland's College Park campus has been arrested.

University police spokeswoman Sgt. Rosanne Haas says 22-year-old Javon Dominique Walker of Clinton was taken into custody Wednesday and charged with multiple counts of armed robbery, assault and theft.

Investigators believe Walker robbed four people at gunpoint within about an hour the night of July 12.

Hoaas says one of the victims was playing the popular smartphone game and two others had just finished playing the game when they were robbed. A fourth victim, who wasn't playing "Pokemon Go" but was using his phone, was also robbed.

No one was hurt. In each incident, the victims' cellphones were stolen.

It isn't clear if Walker has an attorney.
