Loudoun County sheriff investigating road rage incident

LEESBURG, Va. (AP) -- Loudoun County authorities are searching for witnesses after a road rage incident that involved gunfire.

Loudoun County Sheriff's officials say the incident began Thursday morning on Route 7 when a green sedan began tailgating another vehicle. Officials say the sedan pulled up beside the victim's vehicle, and the driver began shouting at the victim.

Investigators say the victim then heard loud noises that sounded like gunshots. The suspect vehicle exited onto the Loudoun County Parkway. The victim later discovered bullet holes in the rear of his vehicle. No one was injured.

Loudoun County investigators said Saturday that they are seeking witnesses in the case, as well as the suspect. They also want to talk to a female passenger who was seen in the suspect vehicle.
