Where to pick up your copy of "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" at midnight

It has been nine years since fans last stood in line at area bookstores, anxiously waiting to get their hands on a copy of the latest Harry Potter book.

But tonight, nostalgia will reign supreme as legions on DC-area fans can once again line up to receive the latest J.K. Rowling masterpiece hot off the presses.

Looking for a bookstore hosting festivities tonight? Here are a few:

Barnes and Noble:

Most Barnes and Noble stores are hosting events to celebrate the book's release. A full list of the chain's locations can be found here.

Politics and Prose:

Northwest's favorite book nook will be hosting celebrations beginning at 10: 30 p.m. and will sell copies of the book just after midnight. Pre-orders for a copy are now closed, but the store has assured anxious fans that they will have plenty of copies on hand.

Politcs and Prose's Busboys and Poets location will begin selling copies of the book on Sunday at 10 a.m.

Sacred Circle:

The Alexandria bookshop will be hosting a party from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. and will be part of a larger Old Town scavenger hunt celebrating the book's release.

Kramerbooks & Afterwords:

Kramers will be hosting a party and costume contest beginning at 10 p.m. that will feature alcoholic and non-alchoholic butterbeer!

Horray for Books!

The Alexandria store will be hosting a midnight release party.

East City Bookshop:

The bookstore on Capitol Hill will be hosting a party featuring free refreshments, movie screenings, team trivia and a costume contest with prizes.
