WASHINGTON - FOX 5 DC contributor Sarah Fraser is trying to adopt a plant-based diet four days a week after viewing the documentary “What the Health” and talking to Dr. Neal Barnard about the benefits of avoiding animal-based food.
The documentary claims one egg is as bad for you as five cigarettes.
Eggs have more cholesterol than any other food and a large amount of saturated fat, according to Barnard.
Barnard said milk causes cancer cells in your body to multiply and spread rapidly, as milk is not intended to be consumed by humans once they have grown out of infancy.
He also said the food industry is spending money on research studies to prove their products are safe. Organizations can conduct research studies in ways that make their products look better for you than they really are.
One serving of processed meat per day increases risk of developing colorectal cancer by 18 to 20 percent.
The documentary might not convince you to go vegan, but it will definitely encourage you to think twice about your next meal and make healthier dietary choices.
