Washington Flyer taxi driver carjacked in DC, vehicle stolen, police say

Police are investigating the armed carjacking of a taxi driver early Wednesday morning in Northwest, D.C.

Officers say the carjacking was reported around 2:30 a.m. near 17th Street and N Street. The driver, who works for the Washington Flyer taxi service, said two people armed with guns approached his taxi and demanded money.

The driver gave the armed subjects his wallet, cell phone and cash and then exited the vehilce. Both subjects then got into the taxi and drove off eastbound along the 1700 block of N Street.

Investigators do not have descriptions of the suspects. The investigation is continuing at this time.
