VIDEO: Employee assaulted as 4 suspects steal merchandise from Georgetown store

- D.C. police are asking for help to identify and find four suspects seen on surveillance video stealing merchandise and assaulting a store employee at a Georgetown clothing store.

The theft and simple assault incident happened in the 1400 block of Wisconsin Avenue in Northwest D.C. last Thursday at around 10:52 a.m.

Surveillance video from inside the business shows the four suspects entering and walking around the store. One of the suspects begins talking with a female store employee at the store counter before she witnesses the other three opening up a glass-enclosed display filled with what appears to be purses. When the employee comes to confront and stop the suspects from taking the purses, one of them punches the employee in the face and in the back of the head before all four run out of the store on foot.

Anyone with information is asked to call D.C. police at 202-727-9099 or text your tip to the text tip line at 50411.
