Unrelenting heat, humidity continue as extreme temperatures grip DC region

- Unrelenting heat continues across the D.C. region Tuesday as Labor Day’s unofficial end to summer doesn't mean the end to extreme temperatures and humidity.

FOX 5's Mike Thomas says high pressure off of the coast will continue to bring hazy, hot and humid conditions across the region. Thomas says high heat index numbers will make temperatures feel like they are over 100 degrees into the end of the week.

While most should stay dry Tuesday, don’t rule out a pop-up storm later this afternoon and evening, Thomas says.

A Heat Advisory will be in place from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. for most parts of the region.
