'All clear' given after alert at University of Maryland for reports of armed subject on campus

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - An 'all clear' has been given following a scare at University of Maryland College Park after police issued an alert for an armed subject on campus.

University of Maryland Police say officers located a person in question who was reported near Annapolis Hall. Investigators say the individual has been interviewed and a threat no longer exists.

Just after 12:15 p.m., Police issued an alert for a white female with a handgun in a holster, possibly with a badge at Annapolis Hall.

Police said that officers were investigating this incident.
