Wow! Blue crab with huge oysters growing on it pulled from Chesapeake Bay

You've seen blue crabs, but you probably haven't seen one like this. A blue crab discovered in the Chesapeake Bay recently is most unique.

The Chesapeake Bay Foundation tweeted photos of the crab, which was discovered in Tangier Island, Va. Mayor James "Ooker" Eskridge's crab pot in the bay about a week ago. It's a living blue crab-- with huge living oysters attached to it. At first glance, the oysters look like eyes!

While it isn't rare to find a living blue crab with living oysters attached to it, it is rare for them to be this size. The oysters, which are about six months old, are actually growing in a way that that crab's view is obstructed.

According to a spokesperson for the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, the blue crab is about 2 years old.
