Get into the holiday spirit with The Washington Ballet's mesmerizing performance of 'The Nutcracker' now playing at the Warner Theatre.

Dancing dolls, a pirouetting prince, toy soldiers and - cherry blossoms! The Nutcracker comes to life in D.C.'s annual production at the Warner Theatre performed by The Washington Ballet.

Set in historic Georgetown, the show puts a unique twist on a timeless classic with pieces of the capital city intertwined throughout.

On a recent visit to FOX 5 DC's Good Day DC, young Clara watched as dolls came to life as a sneak peek to the evening's show, featuring a guest appearance by FOX 5's Erin Como.

Julie Kent, renowned ballerina and artistic director of TWB since July 2016, gave a few behind the scenes cues to her students before they took stage in the FOX 5 loft.

"Many of the young talent leave home at an early age to pursue their dreams," she said. "They are really what's happening at The Washington Ballet - it's very, very exciting."

The Nutcracker runs through Dec. 24 with both matinee and evening performances. For ticket information be sure to visit www.warnertheatredc.com
