SMITHSONIAN at 8 Invites Public to Grand Party at Arts and Industries Building

After 12 years, Smithsonian Arts and Industries Building re-opens to the public for an evening of celebration.

Due to extended renovations, the 1881 architectural beauty has been closed to the public for 12 years. SMITHSONIAN at 8 is changing that by inviting you to "A Night at the World's Fair: A Celebration at the Arts and Industries Building."

This special ticketed event, for guests 21 and older, will take place Saturday, June 11, 2016 from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. The stunning building will come to life in an alluring evening filled with vagrant performances, a live DJ, cocktails, food, and much more.

If you plan on attending the grand party, these are the two types of tickets that are offered on-line.

General Admission: For $50 you score two complimentary drinks and carnival snacks. Not going solo? Save $25 when you purchase two tickets for $75!

VIP Admission: Want to go all out? For $100 guests enjoy an open bar all night, get early access from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. that features a bar with specialty cocktails and small bites, and receive a complimentary Smithsonian Associates membership at the Resident Associate level to enjoy year-round discounts for upcoming events.

Too soon to commit? If tickets are available at the door, you can purchase them the day of the event. Something to keep in mind-- prices increase to $60 for General Admission and $125 for VIP Admission.

To make things more exciting, guests who enjoy playing dress up are urged to mirror their favorite world's fair era. From the sophisticated Victorian's, to Parisian couture from La Belle Époque era-- whatever you decide, dress to impress because you might go home with prize!

For tickets and further information on the event you can call 202-633-3030 or click here to visit their website.

Considered to be The Smithsonian's most beautiful kept secret, this rare close-up look at the magnificent Arts and Industries Building will be a unique experience. The building is still a work in progress and not all areas will be open during the event.
