Sketch of suspect released in abduction, sexual assault of 5-year-old girl in Fairfax County

Police have released a composite sketch of a suspect believed to have abducted and sexually assaulted a 5-year-old girl in Fairfax County.

Police say it happened at an apartment complex in the 6700 block of Tower Drive at around 5:30 p.m. Sunday in the Alexandria section of Fairfax County.

According to police, a Hispanic male abducted the young girl and sexually assaulted her before she was released a short time later. A family member told police that the girl went missing and resurfaced a short period later reporting what had happened to her.

The suspect is described as a light-skinned Hispanic man between his mid-20s to early 30s. He is around 5'8" to 5'9" tall and weighs about 200 pounds. He is also described as clean shaven and has black hair.

"Even if you think it's trivial or not important to you, it might be crucial to the case, so anything that is out of the ordinary - a new car in the neighborhood, a new person in the neighborhood, someone you don't recognize on this block or another different block anywhere in Fairfax County, please give us a call," said Fairfax County Police Officer Reem Awad.
