Six Flags America evacuated, reports of threat against park

Six Flags America was evacuated Saturday after a threatening phone call.

Police say they received the call at around 1:30 p.m. and that the caller made an unknown threat to the park.

Following the call, officials launched an investigation into the origin and validity of the call. They also asked park staff to clear the park out of an abundance of caution.

Six Flags American had planned to close early for a private event, and is now closed for the rest of the day.

According to Prince George's County Police, a sweep was done of the park and nothing suspicious was found.
