Reston man arrested for abduction, attempted sexual assault, Fairfax County police announce

RESTON, Va. - A Reston man has been arrested in the abduction and attempted sexual assault of a woman, according to officials.

Fairfax County police announced 33-year-old Dominique Ashley Childs was arrested in Manassas on Monday in connection with the attack that happened on Aug. 14.

Authorities said a 22-year-old woman was walking on the sidewalk in the 12000 block of North Shore Drive near the Tall Oaks Village Center when Childs approached her, dragged her into a wooded area and attempted to remove her pants.

Childs was scared off when neighbors heard the victim screaming for help, according to police.

Officials said Childs was arrested after detectives received a tip. Childs has been charged with abduction with intent to defile and was being held without bond.
