Puppy abandoned in Germantown, Md. covered in ulcers, police searching for person responsible

On August 4, 2016, the Montgomery County Department of Police, Animal Services Division responded to a call alleging a dog had been abandoned in Germantown, MD.

According to the lead investigator on the case, "the puppy was found in a dirty crate in the roadway on Staten Ct, in Germantown, MD by a citizen who contacted Police immediately."

As a result of the feces filled crate, Rascal the 6-month-old pit-bull puppy, developed skin ulcerations throughout his body.

Rascal is being treated by the Montgomery County Animal Services and Adoption Center's veterinary team--he remains stable.

Police are asking anyone to come forward with information that will help find the person or person's responsible for such an awful act of animal cruelty.
