Prince George's County police ID 14-year-old struck and killed by car in Bowie

BOWIE, Md. (FOX 5 DC) -- Prince George's County police have confirmed the identity of a 14-year-old who was struck and killed by a car on Church Road in Bowie on Saturday.

According to investigators, Kamal Nashid - a ninth-grader at Georgetown Day School - was jogging when he ran into a crosswalk near the intersection of Church Road and Fairview Vista Drive.

Police say Nashid passed in front of a southbound red pickup, but was struck by a second car.

The driver of the second car remained on the scene - the red pickup truck did not. Police would like to speak with the pickup truck's driver.

Police located Nashid suffering from critical injuries.

He was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
