Police pull over motorists suspected of cell phone use while driving in Maryland

Motorists in Maryland were met by officers Wednesday morning who were ticketing drivers they say were using their cell phones while operating their vehicles.

Officers were seen at Interstates-270 and Clopper Road in the Boyds, Maryland area around 9 a.m. Many motorists were seen being pulled over by officers.

Maryland law prohibits drivers from using handheld phones while driving. Maryland State Police say the enforecement is part of National Distracted Driving Awareness Month.
