Police said a man was shot in the Columbia Heights section of D.C. Tuesday afternoon and they are on the lookout for two suspects.

Police told FOX 5 it all started with a fight at the Panamericana Grocery store in the 3500 block of 14th Street and ended up the street a few blocks away.

FOX 5 obtained surveillance footage from the store where a suspect is seen hitting a man with gun outside. Then they went inside the store where the store manager said they lingered and then took the fight to one of the aisles.

The manager said they went out the back door while the suspects were waiting for them on the corner.

Somehow, they made their way a few blocks down to Nelson Street and 14th Street outside a nearby bakery.

"I was in the bakery waiting my turn buying bread and I hear like a [gunshot noise], but I didn't pay much attention," said Sandra Gutierrez. "And the lady comes inside and said, 'Don't go outside. Just close the door. Don't go outside and stay here. Somebody is shooting outside.'"

"My boss said that they were right there where the white car is at and they were arguing and they shoot a man," said Carmen Toro, an employee of the bakery.

Witnesses said they saw the victim run to the lobby of the Allegro apartment building across the street.

The victim was conscious and breathing when he was taken to the hospital.

Police said they are looking for two black male suspects. One is described as having a light complexion, long red dreadlocks and was armed with a weapon. The other suspect is described as wearing a ski mask and got away on a bike.
