SILVER SPRING, Md. - Police have taken three people into custody after shots were fired nearby downtown Silver Spring.
Montgomery County police believe this may have been a drug deal that went bad as residents on Dale Drive called police at around 4:19 p.m. after hearing gunfire in the area. According to police, officers would find evidence of a shooting in the 8800 block of Colesville Road as a black vehicle was seen with an apparent bullet hole in the windshield.
There was also a second scene connected to the shooting a few blocks away on Spring Street.
Police said they did not find anyone injured from the shooting.
FOX 5 has been told that a significant amount of marijuana was recovered at the scene along with a loaded handgun.
Police are crediting numerous witnesses with helping them pinpoint the suspects.
