Police: Gunfire hits DC charter school; no injuries

WASHINGTON - D.C. police are investigating the reports of shots fired that struck the building and windows of a charter school in Southeast D.C.

Police said the gunfire reportedly happened at 2:50 p.m. Tuesday at KIPP DC Promise Academy's Benning Road campus.

The school said there were no injuries and the students and staff are safe. The school said they will continue to dismiss students as normal.
