Police chase ends with crash in Northwest DC, as suspects fire shots at officers

Three people have been arrested, DC police say, after they were firing shots at officers who had responded to the area.

Police say they received a call at around 4 a.m. Sunday for reports of gunshots coming from a car.

When officers got there, they saw gunfire coming from a car at the 2200 block of Bladensburg Avenue, Northeast.

Officials say the officers initiated a pursuit of the car, and the people inside the car began shooting at them.

Police followed the suspects for over six miles, until the suspected driver crashed at the 6700 block of 16th Street, N.W.

Investigators say the three people inside the vehicle were placed under arrest. There were no injuries to officers or suspects during the incident.
