Pentagon to conduct emergency response exercise Sunday

If you see emergency responders at or around the Pentagon on Sunday morning, it's likely just a drill. The Pentagon Reservation will be conducting an emergency response exercise that will begin at 8:30 am, and it will cause some changes for those using public transportation.

Officials say the exercise will simulate real-world conditions to test response coordination and communication. It will begin at 8:30 a.m. and conclude no later than 2 p.m.

The Pentagon Metro Station will be closed until the exercise has finished. Metrobus service will be temporarily relocated to Pentagon City Metro Station on South Hayes Street between 12th and 15th streets.

The Pentagon Force Protection Agency (PFPA), the Washington Metropolitan Transit Authority (WMATA), Arlington County Public Safety, Virginia State Police, and other response partners are collaborating to conduct the exercise.
