Pedestrian struck in Silver Spring

SILVER SPRING, Md. - A pedestrian has been struck after a serious accident in Silver Spring, according to authorities.

The collision happened on New Hampshire Avenue at Northampton Drive.

The condition of the pedestrian is unknown at this time.

Drivers were advised to avoid the area as the southbound lanes of New Hampshire Avenue were temporarily closed between Dilston Road and Northampton Drive. All lanes were reopened just before 7 p.m., officials said.
