Paddleboarders rescued from Severn River in Anne Arundel County

- Maryland Natural Resources Police have rescued five paddleboarders from the Severn River in Anne Arundel County Friday.

Officials say Maryland Natural Resources Police's patrol boat and the Anne Arundel Fire Department's fire boat pulled the paddleboarders from the water near Yantz Creek. The five victims had started off in the area of Boone Trail in Severna Park.

All five paddleboarders were not injured, police say.

The Mid-Atlantic region has been hit hard with high winds as an Atlantic nor'easter has brought wind gusts of 60 to 70 miles per hour. A High Wind Warning is in effect until 6 a.m. Saturday.
