BALTIMORE - It has been a whirlwind year for a recently adopted 21-year-old cat. Tigger was abandoned by his previous owner and was residing at a Baltimore animal hospital earlier this year until a new owner stepped in to give him a new home.
Adriene Buisch, a former Baltimore Ravens cheerleader who works as a marketing coordinator at Charm City Veterinary Hospital, adopted Tigger back in February from the Towson Veterinary hospital, according to the Baltimore Sun. She and her boyfriend were looking for a companion for their 6-year-old cat.
Things were looking up for Tigger, but his old age would begin to catch up to him. Blood tests found his kidneys were failing. A golf ball-sized tumor would later be found.
But Buisch was not going to let Tigger’s last days be somber. Buisch decided to create a bucket list for Tigger.
"We just think of random things when we feel like doing something,” she told the Baltimore Sun.
Their latest adventure happened Thanksgiving weekend as they took him on a trip to Bethany Beach in Delaware.
The trip was a success. It’s Tigger’s favorite adventure so far.
“Thanksgiving weekend we took him to the beach and he loved it!” Buisch wrote on a post to the Canton Neighbors Facebook Page. "Literally sunbathed in the sand and walks along the water all afternoon. Needless to say he made a lot of friends as people stopped to pet him and hear his story.”
Next up for Tigger is a trip to Florida to visit family for Christmas.
