National Zoo's adorable panda cub nearly up to 3 pounds

The Smithsonian's National Zoo says the giant panda cub born one month ago is nearly three pounds and is able to hear.

Zookeepers weighed the cub on Monday and he is up to 2.95 pounds, which is larger than both his siblings, Bao Bao and Tai Shan, at the same age.

The zoo says he is 31 centimeters long and is able to push himself up on his front legs. However, he is not able to walk yet, but sometimes "scoots around the den."

According to the zoo, zookeepers noticed him reacting to the noise of a door opening last Saturday.

As for the giant panda cub's vision, the zoo says his eyes won't open for another few weeks.
