WASHINGTON (FOX 5 DC) — A man who was found dead in an Ashburn home following a standoff with sheriff’s deputies in Loudoun County was connected to a homicide that occurred in D.C. last weekend, police confirmed Thursday.
According to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, investigators went to question 30-year-old Peter Nhek Neth Wednesday in connection to the murder of 37-year-old Richfield Chang.
DC Police say Chang was found dead during the early morning hours on Saturday, June 15 in the 1300 block of Pennsylvania Avenue in Southeast. An unidentified woman was also found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
On Wednesday, authorities say Neth was holed up inside a home on Lamoreaux Landing Square in Ashburn.
When the sheriff's office and the U.S. Marshals went inside the home, they say they found Neth dead from an apparent self-inflicted injury.
No officers were hurt during this incident.
