Seat Pleasant police chief injured after motorcycle accident

The chief of police for Seat Pleasant was hospitalized after being involved in a motorcycle accident Thursday night.

Authorities said Seat Pleasant Police Chief Devan Martin was riding on his department motorcycle when he thrown off after colliding with another vehicle in the 6100 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Highway at around 8:45 p.m.

According to Prince George's County Police Chief Hank Stawinski, some citizens stopped to help Chief Martin and provided aid to him until EMS personnel arrived.

Stawinski said Martin is stable and conscious after being transported to the hospital. The injuries that he suffered in the crash are not considered life-threatening.

The crash is under investigation.
