Metro's summer platform project to begin May 25; several Blue, Yellow line stations to close

Metro's platform reconstruction project which will close six Blue and Yellow line stations for much of the summer will begin on May 25.

The station closures are part of thetransit company's three-year Platform Improvement Project that will reconstruct the outdoor platforms of 20 Metrorail stations.

The following stations will stay closed through Sunday, September 8:

- Braddock Rd

- King St-Old Town

- Eisenhower Ave

- Huntington

- Van Dorn St

- Franconia-Springfield

Metro says the improvements will make the platforms safer and more accessible to customers with disabilities and will address structural issues.
