Metro increases patrols, screenings after Paris attacks

The Metro Transit Police Department has taken several steps in response to the deadly terror attacks in Paris, Metro announced Monday.

In addition to these steps, Metro Transit Police and its local and federal law enforcement partners have implemented several other countermeasures that are not visible to the public, the transit agency said.

All Metro customers are asked to report suspicious activity or unattended items by calling 202-962-2121 or by texting "MyMTPD." Riders are encouraged to program MTPD's number into their cell phone. In an emergency, call 911.
