Man gets 60 years in prison for Metro bus stop stabbing

ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) -- A Silver Spring man has been sentenced to 60 years in prison for stabbing two people at a Metro bus stop more than a year ago.

Thirty-nine-year-old Reginald Cooper was sentenced Monday. A jury found him guilty of two counts of attempted second-degree murder in July. He was sentenced to 30 years in prison on each of the counts.

Court documents say Cooper got into a fight with two people around the Rockville Metro station in December 2014. Authorities say he stabbed both of the victims at the bus stop, leaving them with life-threatening injuries.
