Man injured in fall at Sugarloaf Mountain
FREDERICK, Md. - Fire officials say a man has been rescued after being injured in a fall on a trail at Sugarloaf Mountain in Frederick.
Frederick County Fire and Rescue say they received a call at around 4 p.m. Monday about the injured hiker who fell on the Green Trail nearby the Red Trail.
Authorities say the 22-year-old victim slipped and fell about 75 feet from a rocky outcrop and suffered a possible head injury.
Rescue crews from Frederick and Montgomery County responded to the area to treat and provide aid to the man. The hiker was hoisted on a backboard onto a helicopter and transported to Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown.
