Man arrested in District Heights double-fatal shooting, Prince George's County police say

A man has been arrested in a shooting that killed two men in District Heights on Thursday, according to officials.

The Prince George's County Police Department said 20-year-old Karon Moore was taken into custody for fatally shooting 34-year-old Phillip Michael and 31-year-old Kenneth Edmonds in the 6600 block of Atwood Street.

Detectives said their investigation revealed Moore and the victims were with a larger group that had been in an argument prior to Moore opening fire.

Moore, Michael and Edmonds were acquaintances, according to police.

Moore was charged with first and second-degree murder. He was being held without bond.
