Labor Day kicks off fall local election season

Monday's festivities didn't just celebrate Labor Day and the end of summer, it also ushered in the beginning of the fall political season.

Politicians looking to make an impact on voters were out in force during the parade in Gaithersburg on Monday as Maryland will prove to be a busy race for state and local offices.

"There is absolutely nothing better than face-to-face physical contact because you really get a sense what a person's like," Montgomery County Council Candidate Evan Glass said.

"It's a chance to get to people, meet them one-on-one, look them in the eye and shake hands," Montgomery County Council Candidate Bill Conway explained.
