The following are the high temperatures for DC on Wednesday:

The night of July Fourth should be great for viewing fireworks. Temps are due to be in the mid-80s, partly clear, with some humidity, but should be mostly dry.

Gates open at 3 p.m. Wednesday on the National Mall for the Capitol Fourth celebration.

Temperatures have been above 90 degrees since this past Friday and are expected to remain that way until the weekend.

FOX 5's Mike Thomas says to limit strenuous outdoor activities, find shade and stay hydrated.

We'll get a break from the heat this weekend as temperatures fall into the 80s. The cooler temperatures will make for perfect beach days for those heading to the shore.
