Heavy traffic in Maryland for July Fourth, tips to avoid it

- The Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) anticipates heavy traffic on the Bay Bridge through July Fourth.

The MDTA will implement two-way traffic operations to mitigate eastbound delays as long as weather permits.

They recommend traversing the Bay Bridge during the following times to avoid traffic:

  • Sunday: Before 8 a.m., after 7 p.m.
  • Monday: Before 8 a.m., after 8 p.m.
  • Tuesday/July Fourth: Before 9 a.m., after 10 p.m.
