Gusty winds down trees, wreak havoc across DC area
WASHINGTON - The remnants of what was Hurricane Michael combined with a cold front pushing into our region have making for a very windy Friday morning.
A Wind Advisory is in effect for parts of the D.C. area for the next several hours and numerous trees and wires have been downed as a result of gusts as high as 30 mph.
Thousands of power outages were reported Friday morning and some areas of flooding remain after a day of heavy rain.
Some area school districts were closed Friday due to the high winds.
