Georgetown Neighborhood Library back open after snakes found inside over weekend

The Georgetown Neighborhood Library is back open after snakes were found inside over the weekend.

Officials say several snakes were found inside of the library on Saturday. Staff members captured and released one of the snakes before pest control workers arrived.

The exterminators placed snake repellant around the library and sealed any opening they found. No other live snakes were found inside but one dead snake was recovered.

The small serpents were likely garter snakes, a harmless species common to the area. Officials say the library reopened Tuesday morning.
