Student, boyfriend identified as victims found dead inside Prince William County apartment

Prince William County police said an 18-year-old girl and her boyfriend were found dead inside a Triangle apartment. Police have still not yet said how they died, but the teenage victim was supposed to graduate from Gar-Field High School in Woodbridge next month.

Former co-workers and friends said Danesha Simpson had high aspirations and they are still trying to come to grips with what happened to her.

Police said Simpson had just moved into at the Linden Park Apartments with her boyfriend, 29-year-old Elvin Draper.

The medical examiner is still looking into how the two died, but police said they are not searching for anyone else at this point and there is no threat to the community.

Simpson worked at a Papa John's Pizza restaurant where she was well loved and respected. Co-workers said she was intelligent and responsible on the job. She always showed up for work and was a star employee. They also said her father is a very loving person and would always come by to see her at work.

Her former boss, Julius Gray, said Saturday was the last time he saw her. When she didn't report to work on Sunday or respond to phone calls, friends became worried.

"When I heard what had happened, it just kind of confirmed what I already felt," said Gray. "As soon as I got off of work yesterday at 5, I knew something was horrifically wrong because I couldn't get a hold of her and she never, ever didn't respond to me.

"She wanted to go to Howard [University], she wanted to be a lawyer, she wanted to be an accountant. She would have easily accomplished those things."

Gray also told us that the 18-year-old had told her father about the relationship she had with Draper about a month ago and she was moving in with him.
