WASHINGTON, D.C.

National Mall Independence Day Celebration
One thing is for sure, the District is never short of patriotic festivities. If you're looking to celebrate in the city, check out this list of activities to fill your day with.

Independence Day Parade: 11:45 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Complete with military units, giant balloons, drill teams and more!

Sylvan Theater Stage Concert: 6:00 p.m. - 9:09 p.m.
The United States Army Band's popular ensemble Downrange will perform a wide variety of music. (West Lawn of U.S. Capitol)

Capitol Fourth Concert: 8:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
2016's Capitol Fourth Concert on the U.S. Capitol's West Lawn will feature the following artist: Smokey Robinson, Kenny Loggins, Gavin DeGraw, Amber Riley, Cassadee Pope, Jackie Evancho, Sutton Foster, and many more!

Fireworks Show: 9:09 p.m. (17 minutes long)
The fireworks will be launched from the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.

Fairfax Independence Day Celebration
The City of Fairfax is kicking off their 50th Annual Independence Celebration with a parade at 10 a.m., rain or shine. The evening begins at 6:00 p.m.; with performances by the City of Fairfax Band, The Hackens Boys, and Party Like It's. Fireworks light the sky at 9:30 p.m.

At 10 a.m., at the intersection of Carroll and Ethan Allen Avenues, traveling South on Carroll Avenue, a parade sweeps the streets. The evening events start at 7:30 p.m. with a welcome from the mayor--fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m.
