Restaurant kitchen fire causes 3-alarm fire at Tysons Corner Center

TYSONS CORNER, Va. - Firefighters in Fairfax County are responding to a three-alarm fire at Tysons Corner Center, according to fire officials.

Photos posted on social media showed smoke coming from the area of the mall at around 6 p.m. Friday. The fire happened at the Seasons 52 restaurant, which led to some evacuations.

Tysons Corner Center spokesperson Bob Maurer said in a statement:

"There was a kitchen fire in one of our restaurants that has been contained by the Fairfax County fire department. The food court, movie theaters and surrounding areas were evacuated to ensure the safety of all patrons. The rest of the mall is open. We will provide further details as they come available."

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue said the fire is under control and there are no reported injuries.

Walt Matthey told FOX 5 that he was watching a movie at the theater when the fire alarm went off and he could smell smoke while walking on the way out during the evacuation.
