Fire officials: 2 juveniles set fire that burned down Oxon Hill playground

A popular playground in Oxon Hill was set on fire and destroyed on Thursday afternoon.

The Prince George's County Fire and EMS Department says it found two juveniles who allegedly burned down the playground by dousing it in gasoline and then lighting it on fire.

Video of the playground fire at the Forest Hill Apartments showed a column of black smoke in the sky that could be seen far away as Nationals Park in Washington D.C.

Firefighters extinguished the fire and the damage is estimated to be at $40,000.

The fire department referred the two accused juveniles to a counseling program for juvenile fire setters.

No one was injured in the fire.
