ALEXANDRIA, Va. - A pedestrian was fatally struck Tuesday afternoon in Alexandria section of Fairfax County, according to police.
Fairfax County police say they received a call about the accident on Beulah Street at Franconia-Springfield Parkway at around 2:45 p.m. When officers arrived, they found a female victim dead at the scene.
According to their preliminary investigation, police say the striking vehicle may be a red pickup truck that was stopped by officers and the driver may have had a medical emergency. A second vehicle may have been involved in the accident as well.
The incident remains under investigation.
